How Do Coilovers Differ From Stock Suspension?

Stock suspension usually comes with separate springs and shocks that are built for comfort and general use. Coilover suspension systems, on the other hand, combine the spring and shock into one unit and are made for better performance and adjustability.

With stock suspension, you can’t usually change how your car sits or handles. Coilovers, however, allow you to adjust the ride height, which changes how high or low your car is from the ground. This improves your car's center of gravity and gives better cornering and handling.

Coilovers also let you adjust damping, which controls how the shock absorbs bumps. With the turn of a knob, you can make your ride softer for comfort or stiffer for aggressive driving. Stock suspension doesn’t offer this kind of tuning.

In performance driving or racing, coilovers are much better than factory suspension. They help reduce body roll, improve steering response, and give the driver more control over how the car behaves.

If you’re upgrading your car for performance or looks, coilover suspension kits like BC Racing coilovers are a major improvement over factory suspension systems.
